MUMMY MAZE Review

MUMMY MAZE
Average Reviews:

This game was not what I was looking for at all, I was looking for the game Mummy Maze where you solve puzzels to get out of chambers and avoild mummys, this one is more like a slow verison of pacman and Ms pacman. You can not save the game where you leave off so you have to start from the beginning every time you turn on the game and I can't get pass the second room after playing about 3 times I decided to just uninstall it and put it aside, now I looking for the other game Mummy Maze like the you can download from Popcap.
Thia game was boring and I would not recommend this game to anyone. If I could give it a zero star rating that's what it would get

Puppy Luv Adventures Review

Puppy Luv Adventures
Average Reviews:

Hello!
I like puppy luv adventures but there are many gliches. One of them is that when i try to have my puppy take a nap, it just walks in place and does not sleep and the game does not count it as rest! So my poor, cute little puppys are always tired. I have never tried the other puppy luvs so i do not know if that is a glich in all of them. also when you log out and come back in, the computer forgets what puppy you had so you have to make a new one. another thing i don't like is that you can only have 5 or 10(i forget the number) accounts and you get 1 puppy on each account. Also everytime the computer forgets your puppy and you have to make a new one, it forgets all the items you had and all the money you earned. if i say so myself i do not think thee games are very fun. On the picture it shows a yellow lab with a bow on it but you can not put anything on your pet. the dogs are constantly hungry and thirsty too. so once my puppys get tired i have to delete them and start all over. when you take it on a walk all you do is sit there and the puppy walks and does it's you-know-what.but one of the funny things is that you get to make funny fur on you dog when you choose the breed and the shade of its fur. i give this game 2 stars.

Zuma Deluxe Review

Zuma Deluxe
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Zuma Deluxe is like several PC games in that the goal is to eliminate balls by shooting balls of the same color at the chain. For example, with Luxor, the shooter is at the bottom of the screen and your goal is to eliminate all of the balls.
In Zuma Deluxe, the goal is the same except that the frog shooter is at the *center* of the board and rotates 360 degrees. Chains of various colored balls snake towards an opening. If the balls reach that opening, you lose a life. (You get 3 lives per game, but can accrue additional lives if you score 30,000 + points if I recall).
There are quite a few puzzles within each Level; however, you have to complete ALL the stages in order to reach the next Level. For example, I'm on Level 6 which happens to have 6 Stages. I can't get past this tricky Stage 6, so I keep getting knocked back down to Stage 1 of Level 6.
Random balls will light up during gameplay and if you eliminate the chain that contains these particular balls, you get special temporary perks. For example, there are balls that will create a laser shot for accuracy, slow down the balls, stop the balls, reverse the balls, or fry all the surrounding balls (this one is my fave!).
Also, there is a coin that shows up randomly on the outskirts of the maze and if you hit the coin, you get extra points. You also get extra points for shooting chains in the middle of "gaps".
There are triangular mazes, circuituous square mazes, and even mazes with two openings. Perhaps the most tricky, however, are those that snake under one another, making it difficult to track the balls.
You can play two versions: Gauntlet and Adventure. You can choose to make the game full screen or small screen.
My only complaint is that I bought this game in the store and like Bookworm (another Pop Cap game), I had to re-download a game using a universal .exe patch in order to get the game to work. Without it, the game starts with a 60 minute "trial period" that won't allow you to play beyond it. This is a serious glitch that Pop Cap Games needs to deal with, because it affects other games, too (such as Insaniquarium). If you need the patch, un-install Zuma Deluxe and re-install using http://beta.popcap.com/pubfiles/PopCDFix.exe
I highly recommend this addictive PC game!

Jewel Quest Review

Jewel Quest
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently started playing several computer games, and this one was recommended to me by a friend - she said it could be addicting, and I must say that she was right!
I have been playing Jewel Quest on and off for several months now, and it seems as if the levels will never end. I think this is a good thing, because once you solve a game, you usually don't play it again. Because of the sheer # of levels, this game can provide many, many hours of enjoyment (or frustration....)
One of the great features of this game is that you are never made to start all over again - You keep working on the same board until you conquer it. After you've attempted the same board several times without beating it, you are given the option to just skip that particular level, and move on. I personally never choose that option, but I like to know that the option is available if I get too frustrated with the difficulty of a particular section.
The goal of Jewel Quest is to match various items - you must match at least 3 of the same item in a row or colum. By doing this, you turn the "sand" tiles to "gold", and you must get the entire grid gold within a specific period of time. It may sound easy, but as you move along the levels, it actually gets quite difficult.
Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys matching games where there is increasing levels of difficulty. My thought is that it's probably more appropriate for adults as opposed to children.

We bought this game for our 6 year old little girl. She does pretty well with it in an untimed mode. She is not as interested in it as I though she would be.
My husband and I are horribly addictied to it though. I spend way too much time in front of it.

Civil War: Secrets of the North & South (Hidden Mysteries) Review

Civil War: Secrets of the North and South (Hidden Mysteries)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game is beautifully done, with great graphics and very well-hidden objects. Unfortunately, one flaw renders it unplayable under some circumstances - the mouse does not move all the way to the edge of the screen. I'm stuck at a point where I know exactly where the object is (a hint wasted even confirmed this is, indeed, the correct object) but I cannot get the mouse to move close enough to select it. I've clicked dozens of times all around it (and lost many minutes!) and still, it will not select the object. Unfortunately, short of starting as a new player and hoping I don't get that particular object again (or any in a similar position), I don't see a way to overcome this issue.
Which is sad, otherwise, the game seems very nice, but it is simply too frustrating that you cannot do what you see needs to be done to progress the game. I've tried a few times, and always run up against this issue. I don't know how to correct it, so I'm simply uninstalling the game and hopefully forgetting about it.
*EDIT*
There is a way around the problem - someone told me the secret! You have to start the game, then go to the main menu and uncheck 'full screen'. Click 'okay' to resume the game (which will now be small and windowed, too small to play with how tiny some of those objects are!) and then go *back* to the main menu and re-check 'full screen'. You will now be able to move all the way to the edges. I'm not sure if I'd change my star rating even if I could (maybe up the 'fun' item) because that's such an annoying flaw.
So this allowed me to play through the game and the story (history) is great, the only issue... okay, two issues. One, it's really, really short. Two, some of those items are impossible to find and there are very few hints. Seriously, the fireflies?! Who could find that one... well, I won't spoil it. But save a hint for that!

This game works PERFECTLY and it is very FUN and ADDICTING. I have a Pentium 2 233 Mz. drive and it works like a charm! It only slows down when it is changing songs. It is challenging, too. I cannot get past the 3rd level where you earn 5,000,000 in profits. I can't stop playing it!
I read the reviews in the other version of the Airline Tycoon and I downloaded a patch so it dosn't ask for a manual check. (...) It is the only site that has the patch.

Virtual Villagers 2: The Lost Children Review

Virtual Villagers 2: The Lost Children
Average Reviews:

I cannot say how much I appreciate these games Virtual Villagers is a fantastic gaming series. My children all love to play. We all sit around our computer talking about what we need to do to advance our village. We also giggle about the different things we can do to the villagers. Great idea with no violence I appreciate that so much. I especially like the levels of play #1 is a bit easier though my children did figure out the golden child where it was taking me ages to figure that out. The lost children is a bit more difficult you have to think and work at keeping them alive, and I do love the feature of being able to use tech points to buy different clothes for the villagers instead of them just adding up into infinity.

Brother Bear Review

Brother Bear
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Not having seen the movie, I can't comment on screen-to-PC authenticity, but KnowWonder's Brother Bear game is an entertaining romp through a variety of gorgeous, interactive environments (Aspen forest, Valley of Fire, Salmon Run and more) on Kenai's quest to become human again. The game is narrated by Rutt and Tuke, aka the SCTV McKenzie Brothers of moose (voiced by hosers Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis, eh?), who explain the rough idea of Brother Bear: brothers Sitka, Denahi, and Kenai live in the Ice Age Pacific Northwest. When eldest brother Sitka is killed by a grizzly while protecting Kenai, Kenai tracks down the bear and kills it against the advice of the shaman. As punishment, he is transformed into a bear and must escape Denahi, who is now hunting him. Kenai befriends Koda, an orphaned grizzly cub, who helps him reach the place where the light touches the earth.
The game begins in the Apsen Forest in a training level, where Koda teaches Kenai the bear essentials: how to jump, climb, collect honeycomb to discover secret totems, and collect berries, salmon, and acorns to restore health. Interspersed between levels are arcade-style action games, such as racing to the top of the mountain, the Ice Run, and collecting the most salmon at the Salmon Run. These can be replayed to achieve a better score, or just to enjoy the action again.
Although there are no difficulty levels to choose from , the game increases in difficulty with each level. During each level Kenai must fight and escape Denahi. This is made difficult in the fact that once you enter the fights, there are no health power-ups, and if you die, you start right back out with as much or as little health as you had the first time. The saves are also automatic, and the game freezes up for a good 15-20 seconds every time it saves.
The claim that you can transform into an eagle, wolf or crow is deceiving: these are totems that you use in your quest, but you do not actually transform. The Eagle totem allows Kenai and Koda to fly to otherwise off-limits ledges and across barriers to collect bonus items (the Mystical Pinecone, which gives you an extra heart against the hunter) and to continue the game. The Wolf allows you to jump across super-wide chasms (you only use it once or twice), and the Crow allows you to see hidden objects or paths. There are also three totems that will aid you in your final fight against the Hunter: the Bear, the Sabertooth Tiger, and Golden Salmon. As a bonus, if you collect the six hidden totems, there is a hidden ending.
The 3D graphics are gorgeous: lush forest, snow-covered mountains, raging rapids and waterfalls, and volcanic craters. You can chase rabbits and butterflies for fun, fish for salmon in the river, and avoid grumpy chipmunks when collecting berries. The game did freeze up on my machine in a couple of spots (both in the Valley of Fire), but those were the only glitches I encountered. Brother Bear does require a 3D graphics card and a fair amount of memory to run smoothly (I ran it on an HP Pavillion with 256 MB RAM and an Nvidia TNT 64 MB graphics card).
Overall I feel that the game is too difficult for younger gamers (under six perhaps; the keyboard/mouse controls are rather tricky and very sensitive), but enjoyable for older kids.
