(More customer reviews)I have been using DesignCad products since they were ProDesign on a DOS computer in the early 80's. I have DesignCad 3DMax version 18 and I use it sparingly at this point do to the bugs in the program. Version 12 is the most rock solid version that I have dealt with, so many times if the version 18 locks up on me, I have to resort to version 12 (or ver 16) to get something done that I need to do. The newer features in version 18 are nice to have, but a program that does what you need to do without crashing is better than a program that has more bells and whistles, but crashes ramdomely as you work.
I am in the construction business and I use DesignCad on a daily basis to plan our construction work. I work in 2D and 3D modes and switching between the 2 modes is efortless. You can draw just about anything you want in DesignCad and it is much more intuitive and user friendly than AutoCAD. I'd much rather pay a few hundred dollars for this program to be solid and crash proof, but that does not seem to be where the developes are choosing to go. [...]
