Galaxy of Games 1001 (Jewel Case) Review

Galaxy of Games 1001 (Jewel Case)

The installer and every game I tried attempted to make unsafe changes to my PC including the windows.ini file and explore.exe. My anti-virus program identified these and did the correct thing when it tried to block them. Nobody who is not a super PC wiz should get this because changes like these can ruin your PC.
That said, there were no where near 1001 games, more like 100, and the main program's UI seem designed to encourage game purchases and not access to what you thought you already bought.

Wedding Dash 2: Rings Around the World Review

Wedding Dash 2: Rings Around the World

I am completely addicted to this game. :-) The concept is easy to get, but it's challenging enough that I haven't beaten all of the levels yet! There are a lot of fun details in each Level, and I actually really like the music. On the start page, each of the menu buttons plays a different note in the key of the song when you roll over it--I've been known to spend too much time 'scatting' along to the music with these roll-over buttons--and that's not even part of the game! This is quality software. Fun, but not too immature. (My mom loves it too)

Super Elf Bowling Collection Review

Super Elf Bowling Collection
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game apparently has just been re-released as "Elf Bowling 7-1/2 - The Last Insult" which I had to purchase from a retail store. I found it quite creative, graphically and better than the average bowling game out there.
Compared to "Polar Bowler" (sold as a combo pak with "Polar Golfer", in retail stores on the CD-ROM version, which is also a very good game in its own right), I would give "Elf Bowling" the advantage in overall refinements, and enjoyable to play. "Saints and Sinners Bowling" is another good bowling game, but the most "realistic" as a computer simulation, is "Fast Lanes Bowling".
"Elf Bowling" and "Polar Bowler" both are cartoon-like, Christmas themed, games, so appropriate as gifts during the Holiday Season. Children and adults alike will enjoy these games. Picking up a split, just like real bowling, is very difficult, but just as rewarding. There is appropriate fanfare for getting a strike, and "dirty trick" and power up aids as variations to regular bowling. These are in the form of lane obstacles - some helpful and harmless to roll over, and others to be avoided, that add another dimension and make bowling games generally more fun to play.
You can always just "practice" playing by yourself or bowl against the computer with serveral different characters to choose from, each with unique skill levels. Or, you can play against other human players, each alternately taking his or her turn.
For those with Vista PCs, I have had no issues, with any of these games installing except for "Saints and Sinner Bowling", but be sure to get the latest versions, and make sure they say "Vista compatible" on the packaging just to be sure.

Classic Games Galore (Jewel Case) Review

Classic Games Galore (Jewel Case)

I bought this mainly for Rook, but sometimes play the other games too. The most annoying thing about this package is that you must have the CD in the drive to play. I understand that it's for copy protection, but it's very irritating if you want to load it onto your laptop for travel. Most games have some interesting variations (Rook has classic, tournament, and Red One), but if Atari and Hasbro had really thought it through they could have allowed more variation for house rules, like some PC versions of Monopoly do. No apparent differences in the computer players either, beyond the silly animations. The tutorial feature is a nice touch. Pretty basic stuff, but a good buy for under $10.

I wasn't sure about the game when I purchased it. Once I started playing it I absolutely enjoy it. It's fun to come home from a long day at work and relax and unwind by playing on the farm. That is until the bugs and rabbits start attacking your crops. I hate those nasty little creatures.
Anyway, this is a great game for the entire family.

Magic Match Review

Magic Match
Average Reviews:

This is one of those games you start playing for five minutes and the next thing you realize, it's hours later. Magic Match is easy to learn, but hard to master. It's one of those match games where you have to find three items in a row on a grid, but all sorts of things get thrown in the mix, like boarded up spots, or frozen pieces, wild card "coins" you can earn for long matches and magic orbs to gather all of one item on the board. As you go things get harder and you can get more powerful versions of your spells, which makes things interesting. Also it is fun trying to figure out how to earn trophies and going up in wizard rank. There is definitely replay value too, I am on my second way through the single player mode (this time on "hard") trying to beat my scores and get the rest of those darn trophies.
This game is good for grown ups and kids will love it too. They will get a kick out of the side-kick gremlin guy.

7 Wonders of the Ancient World 2 Review

7 Wonders of the Ancient World 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My favorite part of this game is the mini-game which challenges players to rely on logic to make the right moves to free the star, cornerstone or other object.
The game comes with two modes: Regular for building the wonders one by one, and free play where you can revisit and play any unlocked wonder except the secret one. After completing construction of all eight buildings, the game enhances its replay value by assigning you a rank and taking you back to Stonehenge without starting over on points or difficulty.
Anyone disappointed with 7 Wonders of the Ancient World should try the immensely improved 7 Wonders II. For those who haven't played the original, skip it and head straight to the sequel.

7 WONDERS 3 is a challenging game with all the whistles and bells. It gives your mind a good workout. The only problem I had was stopping myself from playing it every night until I got the 7th wonder. I loved the history they included when you completed each wonder.

Lemonade Tycoon 2 Review

Lemonade Tycoon 2
Average Reviews:

We bought this game for $9.99 on amazon, hoping it would be fun. It wasn't exactly fun.
1. When you first start playing, the game is really fun. But in a couple days you will easily get bored after you hit the 8 stand limit. All you do is adjust the stock then click start day. Adjust the stock and click start day. Adjust the stock and click start day. You get the point. The game is really boring. There are certain upgrades you can get, but you can only get 2-3 per stand.
2. Another con is that this game doesn't show the most important features of a business. You can only do minor things. Minor things doesn't exactly give you the idea of a business.
3. When you start the game you do this.
Buy a stand
Adjust the recipe
Adjust the price
Adjust the stock
Upgrade your stand (You can't really do this because you don't have enough money to do this at the beginning)
Click start day.
Watch the people running back and forth on the screen.
When the day ends, adjust the stock.
Click start day again.
Watch the people running back and forth on the screen.
Adjust the stock
Click start day.
Watch the people running back and forth on the screen.
Adjust the stock
Click start day.
Watch the people running back and forth on the screen.
Adjust the stock
Click start day.
Watch the people running back and forth on the screen.
When you adjust the stock, click start day, and watch the people running back and forth on the screen, one game day has passed.
After a while adjusting the stock gets really boring because you have 8 stands to adjust stock for every game day.
Right now on this game I already adjusted the stock about 6,000 times. I'm not even adjusting the stock now and letting my stock go to waste. This game has NO educational value. So I threw this game out.
Really boring game.
Sound:6/10
Instructions: 8/10
Features:3/10
1/10
1/10
Overall: 2/10
I would NOT recommend this game to anyone!
Get the idea? DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME!!!

Luxor: The King's Collection Review

I love this game. My sister got me hooked on it. The only complaint I have is that you have to start back at the beginning of a level after you loose lets say at 5-4 and 8-4. You come all this way and loose on these levels and you cannot procede where you left off. Other than that, this game is very addicting. I have to play everynight!!! My sister said it took her 6 weeks to pass level 5-4, I did it in 1 1/2 weeks and now I am stuck on level 8 getting past 8-4.I would recommend this game but make sure before you start that you have time in you schedule to play as I said, it is very addicting. I have not played the other games only luxor.
