MONOPOLY 3D Review

MONOPOLY 3D

I bought this at the store from the clearance rack for $3.99, and it's not even worth that. First of all, even though you download the software onto your computer, you still need to insert the cd into the computer each time you play. Secondly, the game play with computer opponents is terrible. You can choose from three different skill levels for the computer opponent. The more advanced their skill level, the higher the probaility that the computer opponent will have more favorable rolls, and a higher probability you will have less favorable rolls. This is too bad because I bought the game so my son could play by himself. That being said, the layout is nice, and game play with two or more individuals is nice, but the rating is for the unit as a whole. Skip this cd and buy a different Monopoly cd.

Scrabble 3 Complete Review

Scrabble 3 Complete
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This version of Scrabble not only allows the expected muli-player games and games against the computer at various skill levels, but also allows games between computers on a local area network, as well as over the Internet. The built-in dictionary is good, although it's missing a some words (e.g., ki, kis, qi & qis) that are included in the Merriam-Webster Official Scrabble Players' Dictionary, 4th Edition. As near as I can tell, 166,184 of the 267,751 words recognized by SOWPODS (anagram of two acronyms: OSW (Official Scrabble Words) OSPD (Official Scrabble Players Dictionary) - the word list used in tournament Scrabble in most countries except the USA, Thailand and Canada) are in the Scrabble Complete Dictionary. Too bad, definitions are not included; so you should still have a dictionary handy. There is a custom dictionary capability and it seems to work except for a bug: if you give it words of 15 characters (more can't fit across a Scrabble board), when it reviews the custom dictionary (described in the manual), it will strip off the last characters causing it to accept any resulting miss-spellings. The Internet and network play features work fine, but do not allow more than one player on each computer. I have not tried to see if it allows a network game that includes connections on both Internet and network. I have not had any problems running the program under Windows 98, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional. There appears to be a minor bug in the video driver when switching back to it using Alt+Tab, but if the Scrabble screen doesn't come back, just use the mouse to paint it back (you'll see what I mean if you experience it). Too bad the game doesn't use a Window instead of full screen only. Even if it has been installed on the computer, you must have the CD in a drive to start the game. Once the game is started, the CD can (but need not) be removed. The overall menu system is a bit clumsy. You must often first click on your selection, making it yellow, and then on Okay (2 clicks, where one would have sufficed). The program also has a chat and sound capability for network and Internet use that is cute.

User liked this game because "everything was there." I give it 4 out of 5 stars (instead of 5 stars) because it seemed not to be my age level (user is 16). The computer players are very good, I could only win at the most basic level. The graphics were a very good simulation of the board game.

This game is a fun way for kids to learn strategy, basic math and geography. My boys are 10 and 5 yrs old and they love it. It has simulated combat, but there is no blood and only abstract violence.

Yahtzee/Parcheesi/Aggravation Collection Review

Yahtzee/Parcheesi/Aggravation Collection
Average Reviews:

This group of three games is wonderful. They are just like playing the actual board games, but with more ease. The sounds and colors make playing more exciting, too. You can play alone, with the computer, or with friends. The price is great, also. You won't regret buying these; this package is a great value. Online versions of just one cost more than the price of these three.

Battleship/Trouble/Perfection Collection Review

These are exactly like the board games with minimal sound effects added. Many computer versions of favorite board games that we have tried have some fun add-ons to the standard version, but not these. We are not avid computer gamers and do not play on-line games, but I expected a bit more than this offers. This is probably best for a young child or someone new to computer gaming.

Milton Bradley Classic Board Games Review

You get seven games: checkers, chess, backgammon, parcheesi, dominoes, connect 4 and pente (Sort of like connect 5). The a.i. is good. Too good sometimes. I think it might cheat. But it's an o.k. purchase. Would have liked more games, of course. It's good for a stocking stuffer.

I got to say first off that the graphics are pretty lame. It's mostly just like the board game only on computer. When I first started playing I couln't stop. It's a great strategy game! And if you do like strategy then this is a great game to get, and it won't put a hole in your wallet!
I give the game play(out of 1-5) 5
Graphics-2
fun-5
Great game to pass those rainy days!

Monopoly - Here & Now: The World Edition Review

Monopoly - Here and Now: The World Edition
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Here and Now the WORLD EDITION is only sold by Hasbro in three forms: as a physical boxed game, for free use on the POGO website and as a mobile phone app. What this seller is selling is just the regular Here and Now version of Monopoly readily available on CD only this seller has labeled it THE WORLD EDITION. In case you haven't played it yet, THE WORLD EDITION features cities from around the world. The regular Here and Now features only American cities. Guess what? This version being sold by this seller only contains AMERICAN CITIES. It is clearly not THE WORLD EDITION.Either this seller is simply mistaken or trying to deceive people. I am trying to get a refund from them. Wish me luck.
