Carmen Sandiego Junior Detective Review

Carmen Sandiego Junior Detective

I know, being a Carmen Sandiego fan, I have beaten all the other Carmen games and still sought to find the Junior Detective. Well, my actions can mean a few things, such as that I'm a die-hard Carmen-game freak, and that Carmen games are really, really good and fun to play. These are both correct, the reason being that even the most junior of Carmen games, with it's super-spy theme, is more fun than regular kid-friendly games geared toward older gamers. True, Carmen Sandiego Junior Detective is for younger gamers, but also true is the fact that it's not one bit less fun because of that reason alone. In a much miniature version of Carmen Sandiego World Detective, Carmen has again stolen a bunch of the world's monuments and it's up to the "junior detective" to travel to different countries, run their magnifying glass over mysterious objects where the crook is rumored to have passed by, and gather clues and evidence, thus nabbing their crook.
The best part of the whole game is you still "travel" to some unique and different countries such as Peru and Saudi Arabia, and you also learn tons of helpful geography facts and hear the native music of the country you're in when you "travel" there. Not to mention that a kids game like this one with the words EDUCATIONAL pasted up and down the box is actually fun; there's the real benefit. Overall, Carmen Sandiego Junior Detective is fun, enjoyable, cute, and educational; here's a game you can't go wrong with!

Where in the USA is Carmen SanDiego? V3.53 Review

Where in the USA is Carmen SanDiego V3.53

This game doesn't even work! It has a pretty interesting beginning for the intro but after the short movie beginning thing, the part with sme telephone thing pops up and you can't do anything with it. If you're gonna buy this, buy the jewel case one because that one had alot of great reviews and I think we bought the wrong one. I work SO hard for $10.00 so that I could buy this and all it was was a rip-off. My teacher has the newer version of this game (which we thought we were buying) and it is SO fun! That's actually how I found out how bad I wanted the game. I was working around the house alot so that I could earn $3.00 because the game was 10 bucks and I already had 7. Then I finally got it and we ordered it about two days ago and it already got here. I was so excited and I just tried to play it and it sucks... please. If you're gonna buy this game, you might want to check what year first and see which is the newer one.

The Oregon Trail, 5th Edition Review

The Oregon Trail, 5th Edition

I was very happy with this game- it took the bets parts of the previous Oregon Trail incarnations and wove them together for a good overall product. I can appreciate a company which recognizes both the weaknesses and the strengths of their products and uses this information to get better. In this Oregon Trail you can once again chose how many you will travel with and name them (for some crazy reason this feature was eliminated in the 4th Oregon Trail edition), but you can also CHOOSE the times you stop to collect wild fruit or fish, instead of these circumstances just happening randomly (which does not make as much sense). To me, these were the biggest changes to previous games, but they were improvements.
Aside from the above changes, the basics of the game remain the same, and it will look familiar to those who have played other editions. A few things have been updated, particularly some aspects concerning Native Americans and some geography, but the good times still keep rolling.
