Dirt Track Racing 2 Review

Dirt Track Racing 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
DTR 2 has less tracks, only 14, but they are more detailed. Unfortunately there is not one "all out" track like Oldero. These tracks take more finesse to get around. Some new names in this one, some old names don't show back up, however all tracks showing up again are different and now you need to find the right racing lines again at all tracks.
Car handling seems the same. Cars respond similar to before.
Graphics are much better. There is more detail in cars, background, track, etc. A great improvement in that regard. Grandstands have individual people in them as compared to a mix of colors it was before.
Unfortuantely I cannot get DTR or DTRSC tracks to show up on DTR 2. I think the software is incompatible. Hopefully developers will create new tracks you can get off internet soon, would like more tracks.
Cars are lot faster. For Knoxville current record time is 14.06 with late model, with tweaking sure it will go down. Still haven't found consistent fast lane and setup is not really worked out. This was just minor tuning to resemble setup on DTR 1. Can imagine people can take 2 or more seconds off that time as time goes on and setups develop to get 12 second 1/2 mile track times or better. So the cars are unrealistically fast, even faster than WoO sprints. This makes it a more challenging game since stuff happens quicker, and difficult to drive with a keyboard because the limits of pushing a button as opposed to more control with a steering wheel really start to show up at these speeds.
Don't care for supermodifieds, but they included them in the game. They are very ugly cars to begin with don't understand people's interest in them when they can play with the late models. Hey, it's not like you have to worry about money on a PC game like you do in real life.
After I bought this game I think it was worth it however don't have the same enthusiasm as I did when I first bought DTR and later DTRSC. It's a rehash-how much can change? However I think that it is a better game than DTR 1, and worth buying even if you have DTR 1 and are real dirt track enthusiast as I am.
Also I am sure all online playing is going to go to this from DTR 1. If anybody knows of free online racing like onlineracing.cc used to be, please e-mail me at superstopper@hotmail.com I want to get back into it.

Virtual Skipper 3 Review

Virtual Skipper 3
Average Reviews:

I am new to the world of sailing having played games such as Sea Dogs, Pirates of the Carib. ect. that really lack the reality of really being on the open sea and focus more on combat which is slow, boring and bad for the most part but when I tried the DEMO out of this game I couldn't believe the detail and the graphics to boot!
First of all the graphics rival those of Far Cry and DOOM 3. Excellent!
The water looks real and the waves splash against your sail boat as if you are really there. You can almost feel the wind as it swings your sail back and forth!
Next, unlike PC Gamers review on this game it's not that hard to learn, really! I figured it out in about ten or so minutes and I'm pretty dense when it comes to PC games.
Al you have to do is figure out what task you want your crew of AI to do and they will get the job done. Focus on the navigational meter on the bottom because that help a great deal with direction and steering your boat to the finnish line correctly. Choosing the sail is a little harder especially if you are not learner with sailing but by experimenting with this in a few mintues you'll have it down.
PC Gamer said because of lack of a trainer the game really lacks but I think you would have to be pretty dense not to accomplish this by yourself. Sorry PC Gamer I think this game is awsome!

John Deere North American Farmer Review

John Deere North American Farmer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Well I was pretty excited to see that John Deere did a sequel to the American Farmer. The original lacked good graphics and got pretty boring after awhile. I was hoping that North American Farmer would be better, sadly I was disappointed.
When I uploaded it I noticed the graphics were a bit better but lacked a true attention to detail. The animals were always hard to see unless you were zoomed way in, the tractor wheels are not round and don't roll (the new equipment wheels do roll)and thier movement was always unnatural. Also, the characters just appeared to be a bunch of un educated hicks. This all remains the same in the sequel. Sure they added a few hard to see animals and you have a few more options on buldings but over all it's more of the same.
I don't want you to get the wrong idea about this, I do like the game but it does have a few issues. The hay, although a neat option is very time consuming and requires alot of attention, it would be nice to be able to automate this since you have to switch impliments constantly, and it looks more like corn growing than hay. The cool part is that somehow it ends up storing hay even though you sell it and makes for a nice bonus, I am sure this is a glitch. You still cannot move the fence (or pastures) past trees which I always found odd and there is no way to get rid of the trees or plant new ones. The game speed went from 1x, 2x, 3x to 1x, 3x, and 5x. I always played the original on 2x, but 3x now is way too fast, I don't know how anyone could keep up and 1x is just too slow. When raking hay, the raking starts in front of the tractor! When baling and you make a turn 1/4 of the next row disappears! I did have one funny part when I tried to unload an impliment from the pole barn. The tractor just went into an endless loop and constantly tried to remove the equipment, then shot across the screen like a bolt of lightening. A pain but funny none the less.
Overall it is pretty disapointing that Bold games didn't take the time to fix alot of the stuff that stunk in the first game and make it more of an adult game rather than a kids game.

Harley Davidson Motor Cycles - Race to The Rally

This game is poor - not realistic for anyone that rides a Harley. The game uses keystroke only - no joystick or wheel, and the sound doesn't resemble any Harley I ever heard, including my own. I can't believe HD let Activision use their name for this game.

Saddle Up: Time To Ride Review

Saddle Up: Time To Ride
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Saddle Up is lots of fun. It's kind of sad that you can't keep on taking care of the horses after you finished Adventure like me. At least you can still ride in shows but the funny guy who talks in the back isn't there :( The wheel thing is really hard but here's the code because I couldn't solve it and had to cheat! DON'T READ THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT THE GAME TO BE SPOILED! 7 clovers ,4 heart,9 diamond, 10 heart,10 spades, 2 clover and 7 diamonds. I got it now thanks to cheat.com and the people who post!;).The ending was really STUPID. Lucy(you) just reaches in and pulls out an ugly necklace. Then you're done! Graphics are the best I've seen. This game is better than all the other games I have: Horse Illustrated CHampion Season ( This is a pretty boring game) and Let's Ride Horse and Pony ( Never buy this one).
It was fun to solve the mystery( Stuff like catching the loose horse, talking to other riders, and going to the vet) The compotitions and challenges were really hard at first but you will LOVE them after you're use to them. You win a horse when you win a compotition. That's fun because you can choose and name it. I never take care of my horses when I go to shows, just the one or two horses I want to ride. It's not worth the time. I had alot of trouble with the shoes so my sister put this game on another computer and it works now. Matheui (Is this a French spelling of Matthew?) looks like and walks like a rubber figure sort of and his hair is all in his face in these long strands. Eww! Garance and Christobald (What knd of names is that?)both have t much hair in their eyes. It looks almost believable on Garance because she is a girl but Christo looks like he's wearing a hair mask on one side of his thin face. Akkico looked pretty good and Lucy walks like a snob (Also pretty slowly). This is a great game and you should totally get it if you love horses like crazy. I wouldn't recomend it for kids 9-? because the challenges can be really hard. Big Hint: This Game is NOT planned for boys! If you are a boy and want this game, be prepared to be playing as a girl!!!!Great Game. Buy Now!!

Flight Simulator 98 (Jewel Case) Review

Flight Simulator 98 (Jewel Case)
Average Reviews:

I have had this program for eight years. I also have a friend with an airplane who takes me with him from time to time. I find this program enhances my meager skills enough that if he suddenly blacked out, I could get us back to the airport and safely landed.
I do not have a pilot's license and have never taken flying lessons, other than what my friend has shown me.
Newer programs have more aircraft, more airports, and more scenery; but this program still does all of the basics you need for flying a real plane, and does them well. This program has more features than I will ever use. Using it will also make you a better, calmer airline passenger. You will know more about what the pilot is doing and how the plane is responding.
I do not have a joy stick, but use the number buttons on the right end of my keyboard for controls.

Flat Out 2 Review

Flat Out 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game is a blast to play and looks great! It takes the first game and greatly improves it. Be warned , you'll need a pretty good video card to make this game really shine. ( I'm running a BFG 7800GS 256mg, game graphics set to max. I'm also using a Saitek Cyborg Gold joystick. ) Cars control very well. The physics is not so realistic as to diminish the fun factor. Smashing up your car does not greatly affect the drivability. Your car can be ready to fall apart and you are still able to control it. ( except for the demolition derbies, losing a wheel or 2 does make it harder to control ). There is a much better selection of tracks & cars compared to the first one. The cars & tracks are set up to allow for a much greater speed as well. The game plays more like a race with some demolition derby thrown in. AI is pretty good and the difficulty is not too bad. The mini games can be a little tough. On-line is fun & easy to set up, but dial-up won't work. You have to have DSL. And yes, it does have 5 disks, just like almost every other game released these days. ( like Half-life 2 , Quake 4 , Doom 3 , Call of Duty 2, Farcry ,etc.etc. ) Hopefully soon, DVD's will become the norm, rather that the exception.
If you liked the first one ( but wanted faster cars ), this is definitely worth a look. ! (Check Wal-Mart, they just lowered the price to under $20.00 ). This game is a great value at that price !

Convoy is a fun game when hauling goods all across America. The gas stations are cool, the weighstations are cool,as are the Hotels and the border check stations. The only problem is the game runs slow and choppy if the drivers in your computer are old or some of the driver updates are missing. Be sure to update your video card drivers before running this game.

I have got this game, and I love it.After reading the reviews and seeing that they liked it so much,I decided to give it a try.I loved it the minute I heard the opening theme song(which is,by the way,a cool song). These people must have put alot of work to it to make it be a hit. This is my favorite 18 wheels of steel game.Too bad the people didn't put alot of work into 18 wheels of steel Convoy,It was TERRIBLE!I wonder if they will make another 18 wheels of steel game.If they do,I hope they work on it awhile before they put it on the shelves at the stores. This game is #1!

Let's Ride: Corral Club Review

Let's Ride: Corral Club
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this game for Christmas 2005. It was okay. Here's a total review of it.
Riding-
There only three places you can ride.
1. The Practice Ring- In this one you're suppose to be practicing. You follow these arrows around a bunch of barrels and this *DING* goes everytime you follow the arrow. I enjoy crashing around the barrels and riding at break neck speed around the corral.
2. The Competition- You do the same routine as the practice. Sometimes when you're going around the barrel a girl will shout "Yeehaw!" or something like that. If you win the competition the crowd cheers and a lady shouts "The Champion!" (she shouts something before that but I can never tell what it is because the crowd is cheering to loudly). Each time you go to a new competition the color of the barrels change. The course is always the same.
3. The Pasture
If you are expecting to be riding through beautiful spectacular landscape you will be crushed. All the pasture really is is a field with a fence around it and a pretty background. You can race around these barrels which is kind of fun. One good thing about the pasture is it gives you a different barrel course to try. My favorite part (even though this isn't why they created it!) is to ride at really fast all around to the outskirts of the pasture.
The Characters:
Horse- you can only have 1 horse and if you change his colors they always go back when you exit the game (I've tried it several times) so you'd better choose the color you really want when you click the new game button. The saddles are nice and so are the blankets but the horse looks so short. He looks like a big Shetland pony. The reins look like giant strings. It is fun to name your horse though and its also neat to see its foot print when it moves around (in the competition, pasture, and practice.)
The Rider- the rider is kind of nice. You can personalize her by changing her pants, boots, shirts, and hats. She never smiles though but always has this scowly expression on her face except in the competition/practice/pasture then you can't see her face because of her huge hat(unless she looks back).
The Stable-
Nice very nice- if you could ever use it! The backgrounds are beautiful but you can never ever clean your horse or clean out its stall. Also there are about twelve stalls but you can only have one horse. Totally crazy.
The Stall-
Your horse has a huge stall complete with a window and a whole lifetime supply of hay. The corky thing is your horse never poops and he never has to have his stall cleaned. Totally unre
Taking Care of Your Horse
Grooming-You have this dinky little sponge thing which you wave over your horse's back. You can do it as quick/long as you want which means they don't really care if you do it or not.
Feeding- all you can feed your horse is apples and maybe carrots. You don't ever have to water him.
Glitches-
I've never really experienced really bad technical trouble. Sometimes it takes the game a while to load and sometimes it freezes (I think the freezing problem is my computer).
If the horse turns his head back and you press the right/left arrow key the horse begans to walk in a circle and the top/side rider's hat dissapears for a second. It's kind of funny because she's totally bald (besides her ponytail).
Scrapbook- the scrapbook doesn't work for me :(. It was the part I was looking forward to most (sniff). Mine does little video clips of you riding. I like it a lot :).

Well there's my review. This game is fun [...] go ahead and buy it. It is fun for the first couple of weeks. I recommend it for little kids more than kids my age (10 and up).

Police Quest Collection Review

Police Quest Collection
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love PQ1-Police Quest: Open Season. After Open Season it got bad. Daryl Gates's Open Season was eary and very tough, I needed the hint book. The only problem I have with this compilation is PQ1. I hated the VGA version (remake) and hoped both EGA and VGA were on the cd's. Unfortunatly EGA was left out. Similar to Leisure Suit Larry 1. I was very disapointed with both remakes of PQ1 and Leisure Suit Larry 1.
Police Quest 1 dealt with the Death Angel Jesse Baines. You are Sonny Bonds regular police officer patrolling the streets until you get promoted to detective and try to track down the death angel. The ending was great and one of a kind. The hotel was the final (would of been the final meeting with Baines) part of the game. After you play poker for alittle while, you recognize Baines across from you and when you go back up to his hotel suite LOOK OUT!. Police Quest 2 had a different take on PQ1. You are thrown once again into the Death Angels clutches when Baines escapes jail and swore his revenge on Sonny Bonds, The classic writing to issue a command was great. The ending was terrific where you had to difuse a bomb as well as meet Baines again in a different city. PQ3 was also oe of my favorites. The graphics were much improved and you again were Sonny Bonds but your true love Marie (who you met in PQ1 but Sonny knew her before that) was stabbed by a visious gang (part of an occult). From patrolling the streets to becoming detective, Sonny is once again seeking all the answers and trying to stay calm and hope Marie recoperates after getting stabbed and left in critical condition. PQ 4 Open Season takes you out of Lytton as well as Sonny Bonds's shoes and into a detective who works in Los Angeles. This one is very ear, gorry (back in those times), and took you to different places. Once the PQ series switched to SWAt it was terrible, Jim Walls, please come back! If Police Quest was resurrected now the graphics and gameplay would be amazing. Imagine sitting on the highway with a radar gun pulling over people, respondonding to a bank robbery ect...
