Big Kahuna Reef: A Wave of Underwater Puzzle Action Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Big Kahuna Reef is like several PC games out there that require players to make matches of three or more items in order to clear the board. With this game, your goal in the earlier stages is to clear the board and free the fish by making matches of three or more items. In later levels, you have to match 3 or more items in order to bust the fish out of boxes, chained boxes, metal boxes, and more.
Irregular shaped puzzles and metal/chained boxes make for some challenges. I rarely run out of time on these puzzles, but when I first played it during a trial period, I did run out of time.
There are four beautiful backgrounds and the fish are very relaxing. The symbols you need to match include white pearls, black pearls, crabs, shrimp, shells, and more. On the border of the game, there are black fish shadows with black round circles below. These represent the amount of boards you need to clear to be able to release a particular fish or sea creature. Once you clear a particular level, you can release as many fish into the aquarium as you like. One level even allows you do release schools of silver fish! (can't remember the name of the fish right now).
You can also just watch the reef from one of four vantage points. In fact, you can even set it as your screen saver. I have the reef set as my screen saver and it's very relaxing (and beautiful) to watch the fish.
There is a "net" power-up that is activated after you make so many matches. This allows you to remove ANY piece in the board, which proves especially helpful for the challenges of irregularly shaped puzzles.
In my opinion, this is the best "eliminate groups of 3 or more on the grid" games out there. (I own several, including Jewel Quest, Bejeweled 2, and Phlinx). The graphics are gorgeous, and the music is very soothing...but very "island" like. (Think Hawaiian or Jamaican music.)
Highly recommended!

Marine Aquarium & Goldfish Aquarium Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I had to put this review in because of the unfair one previously given.
Before I purchased this software, I checked out 5-6 of the major fish screensavers out their and this one is by far the most realistic, (movement, background, lighting, and noise). I have two computers, one 800 mHz the other 1.4 gHz processor and the program runs perfect on both. The goldfish screensaver is just as impressive, if you're into that kind of fish. Don't let other marine/freshwater screen savers fool you by advertising more fish and backgrounds, the quality in all aspects, especially 3d-graphics and color (which are a must if your looking for realism), are poor. I personally thought I'd like the extra fish and backgrounds (turtles in particular) in a competitors screen saver, so I purchased it instead of this one. After trying it, I was very disapointed and luckily I was able to receive a refund. I purchased Marine Aquariun and have never regretted it since. What's great is they have a demo on their website your can try out too.
