I wasn't sure about the game when I purchased it. Once I started playing it I absolutely enjoy it. It's fun to come home from a long day at work and relax and unwind by playing on the farm. That is until the bugs and rabbits start attacking your crops. I hate those nasty little creatures.
Anyway, this is a great game for the entire family.

My daughter bought me this game after I tried the trial version of Slingo that came with my computer. Needless to say, I became totally addicted! This game has many different levels and different games to play. The goal is to get 5 stars in each (some not that easy). Anyone who has ever tried Slingo should try this one too - great for the brain!

Necronomicon Review

Necronomicon
Average Reviews:

If you're a big fan of H. P. Lovecraft, you may feel with good reason that this game uses his writing as little more than a context for standard role-playing conventions. But, it does manage to give a few chills as you wander deeper and deeper into the action. And, bring to mind some of the shiver-producing moments experienced while reading Lovecraft.
I nearly jumped out of my chair at one point when my phone rang. The game had brought me so deep into the action and the sudden unexpected noise caught me while I was expecting something to suddenly appear in the shadowy view on my computer screen.
This game has good atmospheric components. Ambient sounds fit the environments well. And the background music is very good -- never overwhelming but never boring either.
As for danger, there are very few risks involved. However, when you do encounter a tricky situation, you'd better be prepared. And, as the game progresses, the chances for a bad end due to a poor decision are greater.
That's to be expected. Playing with dark magic and reviving the dead -- I call that serious business! You'd better be certain about what you're doing.
A couple of drawbacks as far as I'm concerned -- there seems to be a little too much "wander and find" activity at some stages of the game; and, secondly, the in-game animated videos are not always the best quality...but they do what is needed to advance the story.
This game has some of that old New England creepiness which we saw in "The Blair Witch Project". So, if you liked that, you should give this game a try.

Inspired by the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, Necronomicon plunges you right into the heart of the mystery. The prerendered, exceptionally detailed 3-D environments and realistic graphics in Necronomicon re-create the Lovecraft universe. You'll encounter old, dilapidated houses, dark, dingy passages covered by moss hundreds of years old, an alchemist's laboratory packed with magic spells, and evil-looking machines. These, combined with the rich, evolving story line, will captivate you as you make your way through the many locations, each stranger than the last, all the while being drawn in by the game's immersive atmosphere.

Stronghold Crusader Extreme Review

Stronghold Crusader Extreme
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game is very good. As a matter of fact the original was the first product I ever wrote a review for on Amazon. This is a five star game then and now, I deducted a point though. I have bought this game three seperate times, once as regular Stronghold Crusader, then I bought the Warchest which contained Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader+some extras, and now I have bought Stronghold Crusader Extreme. It contains the original Stronghold Crusader+the Warchest extras, and now it has a new trail, with 20 extreme missions, and tactical powers like arrow volleys that can kill most enemies on screen. There is also a new 10,000 man cap, so expect a lot more action in this version. Thats why I gave it a five star fun factor. Its like Stronghold Crusader on steroids, and this game still has its charm, and it still is VERY INTENSE. To be honest I love this game, and this new version brought it back to life for me. And I should also mention its now Vista compatible, and the multiplayer aspect also adds a lot more depth to the game. But there is a downside. There is no real market for this game besides the hardcore fan who probably owns a lot of this games content already. Are they willing to spend the cash for a lot more men, outposts, a new trail, and some tactical powers? I was and Im glad I did. New people to Stronghold Crusader need to realize the original game is from 2002 and buy it for its gameplay, instead of for eyecandy. This is not state of the art in the graphics department. But I recommend it whole heartedly. And there is a whole lot of game here, especially if you are new to Crusader. This is one of the best games of alltime.

Amerzone Review

Amerzone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit and I'm not entirely sure why. It shared a number of traits that I have found quite annoying in other games, but for some unknown reason they did not annoy me here.
Except for the initial "chapter," Amerzone is very, very linear. There is only one way you can go and one thing you can do at any given time. The linearity becomes more and more pronounced as the game progresses. This is partly due to the plotline, in which you have to travel up a river, making stops along the way.
Every puzzle in the game except for one was either inventory based or a simple matter of flipping a switch. So gameplay was essentially a matter of looking around and seeing what you could pick up. Solving the puzzles was VERY easy, especially since you could simply keep trying various inventory items until one worked, but this was never really necessary. There were one or two puzzles that I solved without knowing what I did or why. I think I would have liked it if there had been just a little more information about certain things.
The first thing that struck me about Amerzone was the beauty of the graphics, particularly the watercolours in Alexandre's journal. This is a very restful game to the eyes. The human characters are very cartoony -- almost resembling Terry Gilliam animations. This is not surprising as designer Benoit S. is a French cartoonist. Weirdly, though, the cartoony-ness of the characters didn't stand out horribly as it does in some other games.
The ending is abrupt and a little lame. I think this might be a good game for a younger person who hasn't played an adventure game before and wants to see what it's all about. I personally played Amerzone at a stressful time in my life, and found it soothing; I liked looking at the pretty pictures and the puzzles were merely a way to see more pretty pictures so I was kind of glad they were easy. If you want a challenge, though, this isn't the game you want.

Brothers in Arms Road to Hill 30 Review

Brothers in Arms Road to Hill 30
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ingredients:
Large cup Band of Brothers
Pinch of Command and Conquer
Generous slices of history
Garnish with authenticty
Second World War games are no stranger to the PC - indeed, the First-Person shooter market is positively swamped with them. Medal of Honor, still a fine game after all these years, gave us a crisp, detailed and immersive slice of being a part of the greatest war in history. Battlefield 1942 let us play around with planes, tanks and great big ships in an online sandbox. Recently, Call of Duty assaulted our senses with a vision of war at it's most visceral and crucially, developed the idea that you the player were far from alone on the battlefield. Computer controlled squad-mates charged into the fray along side you, a gratifying and certainly more authentic experience. Now, Brothers in Arms from UbiSoft takes it to the next level with it's implementation of full infantry combat where YOU call the shots. Played principally from a first-person perspective, Brothers in Arms clearly draws from the same graphical pool as it's forebears - gritty, lifelike animation, sound effects that will rattle your speakers and plenty of neat touches - dust, explosions, sun glare and weapon flashes all look and sound great, and WW2 buffs will be able to salivate over a wide range of accurately modeled weaponry. As in other games, Brothers allows the player to commandeer enemy weaponry and gun emplacements in order to give 'Fritz a taste of his own medicine. The player can also duck behind cover or lie prone, which in this mostly-realistic world of bullet damage can make all the difference between a live paratrooper and a letter home to mom. So far, so Call of Duty.
The ace-up-the-sleeve for this game comes in the form of your GI comrades. The player is typically accompanied by 2 computer controlled fire teams. In combat you can give orders and instructions to your troops using a simple, context-sensitive command system. Placing the command cursor, similar to aiming crosshairs, over the terrain instructs your troops to move to that position - once there, they are smart enough to find appropriate cover and begin to scout for enemy positions. Under attack, they automatically return fire, cover each other while reloading, and stay hidden and defended if the going gets really rough. The AI is leaps ahead of previous games, and it's a tremendously satisfying sight to watch your troops take care of themselves without you having to hold their hands. The 2 fire teams are split between a rifle squad, who are able to lay down supressing and covering fire with their M1 Garands and BAR, and an assault element, who, with grenades and machine guns are used to flank and destroy the enemy - a classic infantry tactic that the developers have researched in order to get it spot on. A typical engagement sees you the player supporting one of these 2 teams, which really allows you to play in your own style - budding commandos will enjoy rushing right down the enemy's throat, Thompson Sub blazing, while thinky types will relish the more strategic side of planning the attack.
In order to simulate the intense pre-mission preparation that paratroopers underwent, Ubi has implimented a unique command-map that can be opened during play. The area around the player can be viewed from an aerial vantage point, and partial zoom and rotation allows the player to plot their next move. The map terrain for each mission has been modelled from historical photographs, and the development team actually visited the battlefield to get a feel for how it must have looked. Best of all, each member of your team is based on a real soldier who fought in the campaign. It's at once rewarding and curiously spiritual to know that you are leading representations of real young men into the jaws of death, and when one of your guys goes down in the field, you better believe it tugs at your heart in a way very few games can achieve.
Like most modern games, Brothers in Arms requires a decent computer, with a gig or so of hard-drive space, a quality graphics card and plenty of free ram. However, you don't need a supercomputer to have a great time - my machine is a P4, 1.4, 9600 pro and 512meg of RAM, and this game remains smooth even when the fight gets close and personal. I highly recommend this game to anyone after a fresh take on an exciting genre; one that takes risks, pushes the envelope and offers a powerful, moving, and above all fun experience.

I have a version of this that works on Mac OSX. It's perfect for my 3-year old. It works in full-screen mode so nothing on the desktop is accessable. The Little Bill character gives clear instructions to the user, so kids can figure out most activities by themselves. It's been good practice for my daughter to learn to listen and follow instructions, plus the mechanics of click-and-drag, etc. There's also just a lot of goofy things to click on that she thinks are really funny.

Although this product is great as a stand alone program it doesn't run concurrent with other programs. What do I mean by that? Well, if your typing in a word program the Snap! Dictionary & Thesaurus doesn't highlight or auto correct as you go. You will have to type the word in the programs window. This may be for you if you do not have an internet connected PC or a program that has autofix/scan built in.

I had a lot of fun with this game. It took me around 3 days to beat and save the princess. I only got stuck once and just looked on the internet and found out what to do. The camera is really choppy, but other than that it was a great game! My 2 yr. old son sat on my lap while I played this and was cracking up at the frog. If you want an easy game that dosent take a lot of time, this is it! The only other complaint was you can save mid level. If you quit you must start at the begining of that level. I have this game listed for resale.

Magic Match Review

This is one of those games you start playing for five minutes and the next thing you realize, it's hours later. Magic Match is easy to learn, but hard to master. It's one of those match games where you have to find three items in a row on a grid, but all sorts of things get thrown in the mix, like boarded up spots, or frozen pieces, wild card "coins" you can earn for long matches and magic orbs to gather all of one item on the board. As you go things get harder and you can get more powerful versions of your spells, which makes things interesting. Also it is fun trying to figure out how to earn trophies and going up in wizard rank. There is definitely replay value too, I am on my second way through the single player mode (this time on "hard") trying to beat my scores and get the rest of those darn trophies.
This game is good for grown ups and kids will love it too. They will get a kick out of the side-kick gremlin guy.
