I bought this product for my 4 year old daughter and she loves it! She has learned so much through the 3 CD-ROMs and card games it has been hard to tear her away. I recommend this product to all parents to help encourage their children to be taught the alphabet, numbers, and shapes with a sense of creativity.

Dino Crisis 2 Review

Dino Crisis 2

Well, needless to say this game is fun to play. If u are a "Dragon slayer", i think u pick the right game. I like this game because it's not just holding a weapon, running around like crazy and then charging like a maniac. It's about tactics, story line, and skills. Even though the graphic wasn't that great but it's classic, and classic game is something u always want to look back to play. Dylan and Regina had to battle through a jungle of any kind of Dinosaurs, from the smallest to the most Terrified one. In the game u will find it really challenging when u don't have the right weapon for the right "Lizard". And i think Dino Crisis 2 is better than the first one because u are able to buy more weapons and ammo. More features are added such as showing your health status, and of course the mixing of health portions is less complicated than the first one. The best of all is that it has varied kind of dinosaurs and, of course, coming with the very useful information about them also (i.e names, types, lengths, weighs...). Your weapon alone cant help u winning this game, in fact, u have to rely on your skills to solve some puzzles, dodge some big "guys", maneuver around some annoying little ones. After all, this game is another "must have" classic game. I really like it, and i hope u will.

Carnivores 2 Review

Carnivores 2

I know, I know...how can I give a hunting game 5 stars? Usually I wouldn't...I've never liked hunting games. But if you have to choose only one, choose this one. Carnivores 2 is far superior to any other hunting game out there, and is much better than the original. Let's face it...no deer or duck is ever going to charge you and eat you for dinner like the raptor does. It's fun hunting and being the hunted...the AI is actually very repectable. So what's better about part 2? First of all, there is support for EAX and A3D,as well as Direct 3D and 3DFX Glide. It makes all the difference! Secondly, you have more choices in terms of weapons...now there is a handgun, double-barrel shotgun, and the others from the original. The new hunting environments are excellent, and are littered with random dinosaurs going about there business. I'm a fan of games like Half-Life, so a hunting sim would never appeal to me. But Carnivores 2 is worth the hard drive space...and let's face it...the price is right!

Dinosaur Hunter Review

Dinosaur Hunter

Dinosaur Hunter is a quality piece of work. Our 5 year old started playing with it when he was 4-1/2 (box lists age 10). He needed a good deal of hand holding the first 3 months of constant playing (he really loves dinosaurs, and this was a perfect match), but after that point he was able to navigate and investigate on his own. He still loves the program. Even though the content is reasonably deep and fascinating for an adult, there is a lot of interactive work that a pre-reading younger kid can enjoy. When clicking on dinosaurs, they will move and make the kinds of sounds that scientists would expect from a study of bone structures. There are a large number of movies, and there are many places where the program will read or pronounce names. One day our son was walking in circles. Each time he came back into view he was a different dinosaur with a different walk and a different roar. A different day he walked into the room and asked my wife for help finding the caudal vertebra for the heterodontasaurus. Not for all kids, but our youngster loves it.

Nanosaur: Hatchling Review

Nanosaur: Hatchling

I see Amazon doesn't have the first one for sale...At least I don't think they do. I'm not sure if I've played this one, but I have played the first game.
I was introduced to Nanosaur in elementary school, probably around 4th grade. A lot of people loved it, and we'd play it when we had free time because it was installed on most of the computers. It was hard for us to find the eggs, but it was still pretty fun. Especially the cheat where if you double-jump off the tallest hill you can temporarily be invincible...
Anyways, this game is pretty fun. Kids'll love it. I even want to get this for myself, and I haven't played it for 7 or 8 years. :D

Primal Prey Review

Primal Prey
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Primal Prey beats all of the games from the Carnivores series. It also beats other dinosaur-related games, for example Jurassic Park Operation Genesis etc. But why is this? At first sights, Primal Prey looks nothing more than a wannabe hunting game, or some kind of spoof of some of its more original predecessors. To put it simply, it's not. It's possibly my favourite PC game of all time.
The graphics are nothing special. The dinosaurs and the plants all look pretty blocky, and the water is completely still and plain. The weapons look a bit like something out of the star-trek laser gun genre, and all look pretty dorky at first. However, once you get used to them, they start looking a bit more hard-core. I am not saying the graphics are bad, though- the dinosaurs move smoothly, and I also like the way that if you stay in one hunting area too long the sky gets gradually darker until you wish you'd brought your night vision goggles. Primal Prey has cleverly grouped all the dinosaurs into male and female- the males are generally more vibrantly coloured, and are protective over the females. This is good progression from the Carnivores series, which had no concept of gender whatsoever. Also, if you shoot a dinosaur, it leaves a scar on its hide, and shoot it with a tranquilizer dart, and you can see the dart protruding from it's skin. It's nothing much, but it adds more realism to the game. There is quite a lot of blood, too. It's amazing how much blood is emitted from shooting a Troodon with a rifle.
The sound is solid stuff. The addition of frogs croaking, pterosaurs cawing in the distance, and the ever-present buzzing of crickets make you feel as though you are actually walking through a late-cretacious landscape. Walk in quicksand and you'll hear your hunter groaning under the strain of walking knee-high in the mud, and eventuall you'll start to drown. The drowning, I must say, isn't very well done. Your player starts shrieking as soon as you begin to sink, as though you're being stabbed, and even after your final cry of anguish, for some reason you can still hear the hunter grunting and groaning. All the other noises, like the dinosaur calls are perfecly added and dubbed. Well, I suppose there are some problems. After killing a T-rex, you'll watch him fall to the floor silently, then about a minute later you'll hear a loud THUD, when he should have neen hitting the floor. Oh well.
The AI is spectacular. The carnivores really will hunt the herbivores, not just you, and upon hearing a predator the herbivores will run off in fear until they are re-grouped with their herd. Say you sniped a Utahraptor with a rifle, the other pack members, upon noticing the death, will run around blindly for a second, until noticing you- then there's trouble afoot. I bet the raptors say 'I've got a BONE to pick with you!' Ha ha! Ha. Er, anyway, the fantastic Quetzalcoatlus, a huge pterosaur, will actually attack you if shot at. This came as a surprise to me the first time I set out to hunt one- I shot at it, expecting it to change direction and fly off, but no- it roared loudly, and swooped down, coming to get me! AAAGH! It doesn't do this with any of the other dinos, though. I suppose that's because they never attack it.
Right, what else? I don't know what 'gameplay' means, so I'll skip that aspect. The conclusion is that Primal Prey is a fabulous one-timer, and I recomend you buy it if you are interested in hunting and dinosaurs.

My kids (ages 5 & 2 1/2)just love this game. We have over 40 kid CD Roms, and this is by far the most popular. I even love it and I'm 33. There are activities for older kids, but best of all there are two activites my 2 1/2 can do by himself (bone builder is his favorite). This is a new version, the older version I would only give two stars. Well worth the money.
