This game actually takes logical thinking skill and memory to unlock each level, similar to the old Nintendo 64 LOLO game. Even the beginner levels are challenging so if you want a game that lasts and challenges your thinking, this is worth the money.

Corel Video Studio X2 Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased Corel VideoStudio X2 November 9, 2010 from Amazon (and it was sold by Galactics). I installed it on my Windows XP Pro (Service Pack 3) computer two weeks ago (late February 2011). The installation went fine with no problems.
My primary reason for purchasing this software was to take AVCHD movies off my Panasonic Lumix DMC Zs7 digital camera to be "edited" and burned to a standard television viewing DVD format.
I studied the software booklet for a week to familiarize myself with the software. I consider myself to be a "power user" of graphics design software, yet new to "video" software. And fundamentally this software looked like it would work for me and appears to have decent "tools" for editing.
Importing AVCHD movies into this software can be done either from a folder on your hard drive, or directly from a camera.
Where things went wrong is I could not get rid of a jitter, or flicker problem after an AVCHD movie was converted by, brought into, this software. On my camera the movie looked fine and had no jitter. And indeed when an AVCHD movie is first imported into this software, it also looks and plays fine.
Then came the problem. The moment I did any editing procedure in Video Studio X2 the flicker, or jitter, appeared in the movie on play back on my computer. This flicker-jitter transfered to the movie when burned to a standard DVD for viewing on my television.
Soooooooooooooooooo... I did some research online and discovered other people having problems with flicker-jitter with this software.
Like a good little doobie I downloaded from Corel a Service Pack 1 (which on Corel's website seemed to imply in their notes that this would deal with the flicker-jitter problem). I installed the Service Pack I and it did not help, nor did it solve the problem.
There is also a Service Pack 2, but it is primarily aimed at Windows 7.
Looking at this software it is designed by Ulead, not Corel. Corel only markets this product. AND, there is no phone tech support any more at Corel to help, unles you want to pay a fee (which I believe is unfair to newly installed software problems).
I gave up. I deleted this software off my computer. This software is a complete waste of money, and time, so if you think you're getting a good deal pricewise, think again. Corel should not be selling this software, nor should Ulead, until Ulead fixes the Jitter-flicker bug.
If you want to through your money away buy this software and you'll be perfectly happy.
I have purchased the Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 suite which will arrive soon. I'll let you know now "Vegas" works after I use it.

Kensington DC Notebook Power Adapter - Power adapter - car / airplane - 70 Watt Review

(More customer reviews)Important caveat with this charger is that it will NOT charge the battery on some laptops while the computer is operating. My Dell Latitude D830 uses a large battery and normally takes a 90W power supply. When I have the computer running, all the Kensington does is provide enough power so that it doesn't use any batteries. When the laptop is in standby or off, it will charge the battery.
So a good rule of thumb perhaps is that this Kensington will charge and power a laptop that uses a 70W or less power supply.
Regardless of all these quirks, the unit died anyway after 37 days of use. Not a very good value for the money at any price.

Ordered this product from Amazon and received it a week ago. Tried printing some floorplans and the background printed as small light gray dots. The background color is set as white. Tried to get help from Encore but there's no way to talk to a person. All they have is this online forum that you can post a question on. Posted the question on 9-16-06 and have not received any answer as of today.
If I could get my money back for this software I would.

However, when I got it, it was only good for OS9. (OS 10.6 just came out.) So I couldn't even install it. I finally had to give it to someone else. So I was REALLY glad it was onnly $[...]
To make it more disappointing, my daughter played it at the other person's house and really enjoyed the game. It wsa a fun game. I just think that the details need to be more clear. Saying "PC or Mac" doesn't help - it needs to say which version.

(More customer reviews)I was thinking "SimCity helped me learn about real estate and land use in a fun way, so maybe this game might help me learn something." This game has no educational value. But more importantly, it wasn't even fun.
Okay, maybe it was fun for about an hour as I learned my way around the game. But that was mostly anticipation. I then realized that I'd seen all there was to see. Don't waste your time. This game is simplistic and has no depth whatsoever. SimCity is still the best real estate game around, even if it is only in a roundabout sort of way. If you want a good, educational business game, try Capitalism 2. Good tutorials and an actual understanding of how businesses run. If you want a fun business game, there are plenty of other tycoon games that have to be better than this.

Instructional Video for Cubase Review

(More customer reviews)Be warned: Cubase LE Demystified is geared heavily toward users of Presonus gear. If you are using Cubase LE with a different interface, you might find this annoying. I did.
Overall, it's a decent DVD tutorial if you are an absolute beginner. The production value is pretty awful, however; even the DVD menus look like they were a high school project. Anyone above a complete novice user will find much of the DVD redundant. For the $20-30 you'll spend on this DVD, look elsewhere for instruction.

(More customer reviews)Another example of how many truely lousy programmers we have out there. Tell me, how is it a game that gets so much time and money put into it can turn out extinct the day it's released?
I'm talking about the controls in this game. Neither Microsoft nor Logitech controllers have been recognized by this game. And even if they had, according to the manual/insert, it wouldn't really matter because only two buttons would be usable when six actions are frequently used on this game. You would think that a game that REQUIRES 800Mhz of processing power, and takes on the classic platform gamestyle, would allow you to use a controller instead of a damn keyboard.
I will remember the name "Global Star Software", and will avoid any future purchases with their name like the blaster worm.

The problem with this version is that it's incomplete - it has only 4 episodes, while the original (apparently made only for the original Nvidia 3D cards) had 7. So you finish episode 4, and are left with a feeling of incompleteness, since you never have the final showdown with the evil wizard and his dragon.
I'd give it 5 stars IF it was complete.

It has great features, like advanced choosing of font folders, families, etc. The most useful item was the ability to easily turn on and off certain user designated font groups. It was also the only program I found that could print out all my fonts in a customized font booklet. The only reason I don't give this program the full five starts is because it seems like Adobe has left this program alone for a few years. It could use a new and improved interface. All in all, I like it a lot.
