Version 9 comes with two CDs. The first one has Word Perfect 9, Quattro Pro 9, Corel Presentations 9, Corel Central 9, and other applications. The second CD contains 12,000 Clipart Images, over 1,000 TrueType and Type 1 fonts, over 200 Digital Photos, etc. You get to choose the components to install. The "Conversion File Types" allows use of older DOS and Windows word processor formats. [I choose Conversion Set 3, 4, and 5.] Next there are many languages to choose, from Afrikaans to Zulu. English is the default. This affects Spell Checker, Thesaurus, Hyphenation, and Grammatik. The next choice is the fonts. [I used the default.] I also chose the default Destination Folders and the Shortcut Folder. Your choices are displayed, then continue to install the product.
If you used an earlier version of Word Perfect the applications will be familiar. At the end of the installation you can get the option of registering this product. The last option is to restart the system so all the changes will become operational. Word Perfect Office 2000 can be run on Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, and XP. It runs better on faster computers. In this version of Word Perfect documents are placed in the `My Documents' folder. The icons for `Word Perfect Office 2000' are only in the `Programs' folder, it is not in the `Start' folder. You can copy the shortcuts to your desktop. Installing this product is easier than the previous version. When you start WP9 you can choose the `Tools' option, then `Settings' to modify the defaults. Choose `Zoom' and `Margin Width', then `Ruler' for compatibility. The other options are remain the same as the previous version.
