POST MORTEM Review

I love these types of games: adventure/murder mystery. The puzzles weren't too hard but challenging enough. The game defently kept my interest, even through the dialogue, which wasn't too extensive. It was vital and quite entertaining. My sister played it at the same time, kind of competeting with each other. Of course we made different decisions in certain situations and got different outcomes. All together it was a great game and quite entertaining.

Agatha Christie : Murder on the Orient Express Review

Agatha Christie : Murder on the Orient Express

Good. Better than the first one 'And then there are none' . David Suchet narrates text for Poirot. Recommended for both Adventure gamers and Agatha Christie fans.
The riddles are generally more logic (ATTWN had some flows in game plot as well as very short acts). Well , hmpf, there is an annoying thing as I 've found: You are supposed to eavesdrop conversations with a glass , but u do that while the conductor is watching you :)
The game offers an alternative solution so players that have read the book don't expect the famous poirot solution exposed in the book to come in.
Minor flaws: The game wants the CD even after the full installation. And I don't like the way that the inventory allows you to combine items: Most games will simply permit you to grab something and to put it on something else, allowing you to combine it. In MOTOE, you need to place all items to be combined on a specific slot (which is in a different screen than the inventory) and press the 'combine' button. And, if someone needs something and you already have it in your inventory, he will get it automatically. Yes, it saves you time, but it is a bit far of reality. Also, you have to search all the shoes in order to find out a footprint match, in order to complete the "poirot advice" . Even If you find the footprint match at once, you still have to search all other shoes only to get a comment like 'this shoe is much too small for that footprint' . Oh, and I don't like the fact that many shoes are indentical ;)
And something weird: You can search other's luggage even if they are in the same room. Weird eh?
The sound? Good. Better than in ATTWN. What I don't like in the sound is that it is much in the background and doesn't scare you to make you get off your chair. Note: That doesn't mean that the sound is bad; It is just my personal opinion.
Other good things: Saves include a snapshot, game installs completely, you can configure screen effects, subtitles included. TAC keeps the good work up.
Oh and also: Remember you are not playing as Poirot. Tricky? Even off-line, David Suchet narration rocks.
Thumbs down: A bit short. I finished it within 2 days. Yeah, perhaps I 've been playing too long ;)
Thumbs up: Book is included.
Thumbs up: You can configure screen effects, VERY useful for low cpus.
Thumbs up: 3rd finale. Exciting.
For these, I give a 5/5.

CSI: Miami Review

Among other things! First off, let me tell you I'm a huge fan of CSI, and will buy anything that comes out with the CSI moniker on it. I've played both of the CSI Las Vegas games, and have had fun playing those.
CSI Miami is technically the same game as the previous CSI PC games. When there's a sequel to a game, you hope that the user interface hasn't changed much, but the gameplay has. This game plays exactly like the other ones to the point it's formulaic. You play 5 cases, 4 with CSIs and 1 with the Lead CSI. The last case always incorporates the previous 4 cases. I spent about 10 hours playing this game, and I've played it before. It wasn't that it was hard, just how should I put this gently, ridiculously nitpicky. What I mean by this is, you can pass up huge pieces of evidence and it not cost you any points, but the smallest task you don't do, will hold up the game for an infinite amount of time while you go back and re-check all your steps. This happened to me in the 2nd case and it was a stupid fingerprint that had been checked on earlier evidence, but not another piece of earlier evidence. It was maddening.
The voice acting was done by the original actors, but the only one who managed to speak with any sort of believability was Horatio Caine. Speedle was the worst offender, sounding at times like a Ben Stein stand in "Wow."
I did enjoy playing the game - the story lines were excellent and believable, and tied up well in the final case with Horatio. (After playing this game, I have learned never to join a country club). I found no bugs in the game which is a relief after the mess that CSI Dark Motives was when they put it out earlier this year. Upon further inspection, there's a patch on www.ubi.com, for bugs, but I played it through with no problem, but I suppose it would be better to install this and head off any problems before they occur.
So in the end, the game wasn't a bad way to spend a snowed in Sunday, but if I had my druthers, the game would be much better. If you're not a die hard fan of the show, don't bother with it and invest your money in the upcoming Season 2 DVDs releasing shortly. Die hards pick it up with the understanding that it isn't that great.
