(More customer reviews)First and foremost, the game is fantastic. This game is not XP compatible (regardless of what the packaging says) but don't let that scare you off because (1) I know how to get it working on XP and (2) you won't regret the time it took to get it working. Here's what I did to get it working:
1) First, open up Windows Explorer (click on Start -> My Computer) and go to the folder where you installed Thief 2. Most likely this is located in your "Program Files" directory at "C:\Program Files\Thief2".
2) In that folder you should see a file called "USER.CFG" (the case of the letters doesn't matter). Open that file up in Notepad and remove the semicolon at the front of the line that says "safe_texture_manager". Now save that file.
3) Now try to play the game for a few minutes. If it freezes go to the next step. If it doesn't, you should be good to go.
4) Go to this website: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72507 and follow the instructions there.
If you have any questions let me know.
